Summer News and Updates

A dahlia reflects peacefully on massage therapy in Haleiwa, Hawaii

Aloha everyone,

It has been a while since I've updated this blog. It has been a lovely summer here on the North Shore of Oahu, HI. I have been enjoying time with family and was even able to take a quick trip to Washington for my cousin's wedding. The brisk early morning air on my skin was a welcome sensory experience after all these balmy days of heat and sun.

As some of you may know, my husband started a new job last year. I have been enjoying the benefits of a new health insurance policy that includes a nominal amount of massage therapy in Hawaii. There are not many massage therapists who accept health insurance on the North Shore, but I was able to find a few. I, myself, also made the decision to contract with American Specialty Health Group (ASH Group, ASH Networks) to see how I liked working with them. My contract with this company allows me to accept medical insurance for massage therapy from companies such as HMSA and Kaiser. It has been a wonderful experience to work with this new demographic of clientele, and I enjoy it immensely.

I have also restructured my prices and fee schedule this year. Having a regularly scheduled massage therapy treatment plan is a huge benefit to health and well-being. It reduces stress level, reduces muscular pain and tension, and increases body awareness. Best of all, massage helps us all by increasing feel-good endorphins so we feel more positive about ourselves and the world around us. Everyone should try getting monthly massages and experience these amazing benefits first-hand.

In order to provide an affordable massage therapy option to those of you who do not have insurance coverage for massage in Hawaii, I have carefully scrutinized my business model. I closely examined my workplace efficiency. Eventually, I came to the realization that if I worked to stream-line my workday, I could charge much less than I have in the past while still offering five-star service. This realization brought about my $50 preventative and wellness massage special. While most of my clientele still choose to receive the $75 custom massage treatment, many new clients have opted for the reduced price session because it is a better fit for their budget and allows them to receive massage therapy more often.

It has been my pleasure to serve the North Shore, Haleiwa, and Waialua community as a provider of medical and holistic massage. I hope to have made a difference in the quality of life of my clients and patients.

I want to thank those of you who currently see me for massage. If it has been awhile since your last appointment, I encourage you to give me a call and make an appointment to experience our new massage modalities and fee schedule. If you have never been in before, I would love the chance to become your new massage therapist. Give me a call or text anytime!

Mahalo and enjoy your summer!

Love and light,
