Couples Massage and Group Appointments

Couples Massage is always an option at our Waialua massage clinic just outside of Haleiwa. Integrated Massage can easily accommodate two massage tables, placed side-by-side, for your special occasion.

Couples Massage: $240

Group Appointments available: in conjunction with the other businesses at the center

A side-by-side couples massage with your friend or loved one. Often, people book couples massage to celebrate a special occasion, anniversary, or birthday. It is also a great way to reconnect with your partner and commit to a healthy lifestyle together. Many times, there is one person in a relationship who doesn't have much experience with receiving bodywork. They may be reluctant to try something new. Booking a couples massage is a great way to introduce a newcomer to massage therapy.

We also accommodate small groups at our location at Ka'ala Healing Arts near Haleiwa in Waialua. We have four+ licensed massage therapists on staff in the center and can arrange for your appointments to be scheduled at the same time. There are also options for skincare, lash services, acupuncture, colon hydrotherapy, and wellness counseling, in addition to massage. Please keep in mind, that we cannot accommodate large groups without sufficient notice of a week or two.

What kinds of massage are available when booking a couples massage appointment?

The answer to this question depends on the therapists that are available to perform your massages. Usually, we can accommodate any combination of Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Hawaiian Lomilomi. We do not offer Ashiatsu couples treatments because the placement of the tables does not align with the overhead bars on our ceiling. We also do not offer a hot stone massage upgrade with couples services because the two therapists must time their massage techniques to ensure absolute perfection.

How far in advance do we need to schedule our appointments?

Ideally, you should call a few weeks ahead of time to schedule your North Shore couple's massage to ensure that you get in at your preferred date and time. Of course, our clients are always welcome to call anytime, and we try our best to help with last minute requests. Keep in mind, that we have the best therapists in Waialua and Haleiwa on-call for couple's massage, so it is more than likely that they are already booked if you wait too late to schedule.

How do I book a North Shore couple's massage?

Give our Waialua massage clinic a call to schedule your couple's massage appointment. It will help us to speak to you on the phone to get your preferences for massage. We do not offer couple's massage on our online appointment scheduler.

How do I book a group appointment for different service providers?

Give us a call at Integrated Massage and Deep Tissue Therapy to book your multiple services at the Ka'ala Healing Arts Center. It is easiest if you work through us in order to schedule your appointments with multiple providers. We are more than happy to contact the other practitioners and get them in touch with you, if necessary. We will also do the legwork to accommodate your small group at your preferred date and time. Here, at Ka'ala Healing Arts, you will find acupuncture, colon cleansing, massage therapy, ashiatsu barefoot massage, skincare, and counseling. We are your North Shore wellness resource. You can also visit the Ka'ala Healing Arts website to learn more about the different businesses and service providers under their roof.

We look forward to meeting you soon at your North Shore couple's massage appointment.
Sincerely,
Sonia Beauchamp

North Shore Standing Massage Appointments

Happy New Year's 2019,

Massage is one of the best ways to keep your body feeling good, but it is easy to get caught up with things and let that weekly or monthly massage fall off your schedule. One of the best ways to get around this problem is to book a standing massage appointment at the beginning of each year. Not only does it ensure that you remember to make your appointment, but it also helps your massage therapist plan their schedule.

Call our Waialua massage clinic near Haleiwa to book your standing massage appointments for 2019

Why book a standing appointment for massage?

Standing appointments keep you from forgetting to take care of yourself. If you already have your massage in your planner, it is easier to schedule other events around it. Getting massage therapy on a regular basis has helped many people reduce their level of pain and elevate their performance. Many times, if you wait until the last minute to book your massage, your therapist cannot fit you in their schedule. You might have to book with a massage therapist that is not as good as you hoped for, or you might have to settle with an alternative therapy.

I don't know my schedule in advance, how do I book standing massage appointments?

Booking a standing massage appointment ensures that your therapist keeps time for you at the appropriate intervals. You can always change your standing appointments when it gets closer to the date. It actually makes it easier to anticipate scheduling problems when there is a loose schedule in place.

Call now to book your standing massage appointments in Waialua for 2019.

Whether you receive weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly massages, call now to set up your appointments for this year. There is nothing more upsetting than when I have to turn people down because I have no time in my schedule. Help me prevent this from happening by booking all your massage appointments now. Give me a call, I am always happy to help.

Have a happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Sonia Beauchamp

I'm sick! Should I cancel my massage? Haleiwa massage tip of the day, massage in Waialua on the North Shore.

Oh, no! It is the night before your massage appointment, and you feel a little funky. Perhaps you might be coming down with a cold? It's so hard to tell... Should you cancel your massage? Or just hope for the best and show up to your appointment anyways? Your body aches horribly and it sure would feel good to have your muscles massaged. Read the rest of this article to find out more about when you should cancel or reschedule your massage session.

Sick woman cancels her Haleiwa North Shore massage
If you feel sick, it is best to reschedule your massage

I'm feeling sick. Should I cancel and reschedule my massage?

There are times when canceling your massage appointment is a no-brainer. For example, when you have a fever, massage will actually make your body feel worse! We're not just talking about when a family member rubs your shoulders and feet to provide comfort while you're sick in bed... What we ARE talking about is an extensive therapeutic massage session like what you would get at a massage clinic. When you have a fever, a therapeutic massage will actually over-tax your body and make you feel even worse. Even though you feel achy, the last thing you want to do is receive a full body massage. You need to conserve all your energy to fight off your illness, so the next time you come down with a cold, DO NOT make an appointment for a massage. Your body will thank you :)

I'm feeling funky and run-down. Should I cancel my massage?

What about those times when you feel kinda funky? Maybe you have that strange tickle in the back of your throat, or you feel weak and run-down. It is so hard to know for sure. You could just be overworked, but then again- if you are getting sick, the initial stages are when you are most contagious. If you suspect you might be coming down with something, the best thing to do is call in sick and cancel your appointments. By staying home and getting plenty of rest, you give your body the best chance of fighting off the cold. You also prevent the spread of germs by staying away from the public while you are most contagious. If you even question whether or not you are coming down with a cold, cancel your massage. Even if it is the morning of your appointment, your massage therapist will understand. If they don't, you should switch to a therapist that cares about your health and well-being more than having a full schedule.

I am sneezing and have a runny nose- it might be an allergy. Should I cancel my massage?

Those of you who are prone to allergy attacks are extremely familiar with how it feels. If you are in doubt, there is a good chance you could be getting sick instead. Again, this is another instance where it would be beneficial to err on the side of caution. Just spend the day at home relaxing and give your body the best chance possible to stay healthy. Conserve your energy and reschedule your massage if you are sneezing and have a runny nose. Unless you are certain it is due to allergies, consider these symptoms a sign of illness.

When should I consult my doctor before getting a massage?

There are certain medical conditions where massage is actually harmful. These are uncommon, but that is why it is important to let your massage therapist know about your health status over the phone when booking your appointment. In some cases, it is important to consult with your primary care physician before you receive massage.  For example, if you have been in an automobile accident, you should see your doctor to get a proper diagnosis. Another circumstance you should consult your doctor is in the case of severe unexplained pain. This may be an indicator of an underlying medical condition. When in doubt about your health status, always remember... a massage therapist is not able to diagnose medical conditions. It is important to always consult the proper medical professional first.

This has been your Haleiwa Massage Muse tip of the day. It is important to know when to reschedule your massage appointment. A good massage therapist will always prioritize the needs of their clients when it comes to health and safety. If you are feeling sick, there should never be a penalty imposed for cancellations.

Give us a call today to book your North Shore massage appointment in Waialua near Haleiwa. Our Hawaii massage clinic offers therapeutic massage and Ashiatsu barefoot massage therapy. We are located in the Ka'ala Healing Arts Center. Schedule a full day of wellness by including facials, waxing, lash services, counseling, massage, and colon cleansing. We look forward to meeting you soon.

How to get the most out of your massage appointment in five easy steps

Let's face it, massages can be expensive!  It is important to know how to get the best massage for your money.  I know from personal experience how disappointing it can be when you save up all month for what turns out to be a dismal mediocre bodywork session.  Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your massage.

Massage therapy targeting the shoulders in Haleiwa, Hawaii

1. Think about your needs

Before your appointment, take some time to reflect on what ails you.  Are you recovering from an injury?  Do you suffer from chronic tension?  Where?  What are your short and long term health goals?  Are you suffering from a large amount of stress?  Do you get headaches?  Be able to describe your areas of pain and tension.  Why are you getting the massage?  The answers to questions such as these will serve as a good starting point.

2.  Include necessary back ground information

Tell the therapist a little bit about yourself.  What kind of work do you do?  What are your hobbies and physical activities?  It is important for your massage therapist to know what your day to day life is like in order to address it's effects on your body.

3.  What are your preferences for massage

Do you like firm or soft pressure?  Do you like a lot of time spent on a particular part of the body?  Is there anywhere that you do not want to be touched?  (For example, some people are ticklish on the abdomen.)  Is there a particular type of massage technique that you are interested in?  Is there a style of massage that you dislike?  Any information will be of help to your therapist and will better ensure that you get exactly what you want during your service.  Don't hesitate to keep the lines of communication open at all points of the session.  If you think of anything that might help your therapist do a better job, tell them right away!

4.  Include your medical history

It is very important for your safety that you inform your therapist of any medical conditions or past injuries.  There are some instances where massage can cause more damage than good.  Your therapist will also be able to give a more effective treatment if they have an overview of your medical history.

5.  Take care of yourself before and after your massage

This is a no-brainer.  Don't drink a double shot espresso on your way to the appointment.  Don't go out and down a bunch of mai tais right afterwards.  Get plenty of rest.  Eat sensibly.  Stay hydrated. It is normal to feel a little sore after a deep massage because your muscles have just gotten a passive workout. Now is a great time to enjoy a little r&r. You have earned it!

To summarize:  Communicate, communicate, communicate!  Be prepared to tell your therapist what you need when you walk into the appointment.  With a little thought beforehand, you won't draw a blank when you get to the clinic and your therapist asks, "What can I do for you?"  A good MT will keep notes on each of your visits,  so they are able to compile a comprehensive picture of your needs and preferences.  With this information, they should be able to offer you an effective outcome-based series of massages that is customized to suit you specifically.
